I am a PhD candidate in Economics at the Geneva Graduate Institute. My interests are development economics, political economy, and economic history. My research aims to expand our understanding of how long-standing institutional and cultural factors shape economic behavior and access to opportunity in low-income settings.
I am on the 2025-2026 job market.
I have research experience with the United Nations and other international organizations.
I graduated from the University of Amsterdam with an MSc in Economics in 2017 and the Autonomous University of Madrid with a BSc in Economics in 2015.
I am originally from Caracas, Venezuela. Prior to 2023, I published under my full name, Orlando Zambrano Roman.
